About Us Smita D. Shirodkar
Earthoholics is a social enterprise specialised in training and consultancy of edible landscaping and urban gardening, founded by Ms. Smita D. Shirodkar on 5th November, 2011.
An M.Com. graduate and MBA in Operations, Smita joined her father's consumer electronic business soon after her Bachelors in Business Management and was handling production and procurement for his company. She discovered her fascination and passion for "Urban farming" and soon quit her family business to pursue Earthoholics. She had an interesting journey from being a solopreneur to an entrepreneur, with headquarters and team based in Mumbai, India. Currently, she is pursuing her M.sc. in Organic Agriculture in Germany and exploring urban farming across Europe to bring innovative sustainable ideas and learnings back to India. Earthoholics focusses on training individuals, educational institutions and corporate organisations on urban farming and urban gardening, besides offering urban farming set up and maintenance services to metro cities in India. Smita discovered her green passion and her friends Priyanka, Vishal, Anuradha, Rahul, Bhavesh and Puneet supported her in the founding days by volunteering severally. Earthoholics has encouraged sustainable living and touched lives of more then 300,000 people through their green awareness workshops, exhibitions like Nature Bazaar, The Urban Farming Show & customized CSR events like Gardening Gyaan Day for Panasonic Experience Center, Nature Week for Deutsche Bank, Earth Day Celebrations at Phoenix Market City, awareness programs at Indian Navy & many more. Earthoholics aims to spread joy by promoting urban farming, sustainable living and strive to create a positive environmental and social impact. |
